Avoiding toxins and unhealthy chemicals? Look in your smartphone for answers!
Using apps can be great for beginners trying to use products (makeup and skincare, for example) with fewer potentially-harmful ingredients. It can be frustrating and overwhelming. I know!
This whole “being mindful and conscious of my purchases and actions all the time” schtick can get cumbersome sometimes. The truth is, I love reading ingredient labels at the grocery store and pharmacy (go ahead, I’ll give you a minute to laugh at my weirdness…) but there are times when I just can’t decipher what something means or I’m tired/busy/etc. That’s where product-scanning apps come in.
Open the app, scan the barcode and ta-da! you are given tons of information and a rating.
Part of using these apps includes understanding where you draw your lines and what matters most to you. Taking a few moments to customize the app and/or learn what the ratings mean can mean easier shopping down the road.
Do you use shopping apps? If so, which ones are your favorite?
