Here’s what I’ve been reading, watching, listening to this week!
First, this adorable video is sure to make your day, especially if you love dogs:
It’s 2015, I feel like all takeout food containers and other disposables at restaurants should be made like this! Biodegradable Plates Made from Food Waste
Please consider taking the Plastic-Free July Challenge. It’s easier than you think 😉
The simplest DIY toner ever, courtesy of Sophie Uliano. I do something similar – witch hazel and rose water in a spray bottle in my fridge – so I love this idea!
I think this big balloon is the kind of thing a kid or adult would love for a birthday or special occasion. Plus, it’s so striking I think no other decorations (or not a lot) would be necessary. I’m not a huge fan of disposable stuff but this is just so fun!
I love cucumber salad and this recipe from Julia at South by Northwest seems like the perfect summer side dish. I grew up eating Hungarian-style cucumber salad (aka loaded with sour cream and dill) but this version seems more my speed these days. I might try it with a pinch of paprika as a nod to my Hungarian grandfather, though! 😉
What’s the best way to dispose of my contact lenses and cosmetics? via Grist.
I love that big balloon! I’m totally bookmarking that shop for when I plan my next party. And that dog video is adorable. Happy weekend!
